== Forbidden Drive == Forbidden Drive, the main trail along the creek, follows the route of a colonial-era road for approximately five miles from Northwestern Avenue to Lincoln Drive. The name derives from prohibition of automobile traffic—the road is "forbidden" to cars. The wide gravel path accommodates walkers, runners, cyclists, and horseback riders in a shared-use arrangement.<ref name="wiss"/> The drive's relatively level grade along the creek contrasts with the steep terrain visible on both sides. This accessibility makes Forbidden Drive the park's most popular route, drawing visitors throughout the year.<ref name="wiss"/>
