Walnut Street Bridge
Walnut Street Bridge is a bridge spanning the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, carrying Walnut Street between Center City and University City. The bridge provides a key connection between downtown Philadelphia and the university campuses to the west.
History
[edit | edit source]The current Walnut Street Bridge opened in 1990, replacing earlier structures. Walnut Street has served as an important east-west corridor since the colonial era, and crossings at this location date back to the 19th century.[1]
