Temple University Hospital is a Level I trauma center and academic medical center serving North Philadelphia and the surrounding region. Founded in 1892 as Samaritan Hospital and affiliated with Temple University since 1920, the hospital operates 722 beds and is the flagship hospital of Temple Health.
