Bryce Harper
Bryce Aron Max Harper (born October 16, 1992) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball. A two-time National League Most Valuable Player, Harper signed the largest free agent contract in North American sports history when he joined the Phillies in 2019.
Career Before Philadelphia
[edit | edit source]Harper was selected first overall in the 2010 MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals. He made his major league debut in 2012 at age 19 and quickly established himself as one of baseball's brightest young stars, winning NL Rookie of the Year honors.
In 2015, Harper won his first NL MVP award after a historic season in which he hit .330 with 42 home runs and 99 RBI, posting an extraordinary 1.109 OPS.[1]
Signing with Philadelphia
