Sidney Kimmel Medical College (SKMC) at Thomas Jefferson University is one of America's oldest and most respected private medical schools, founded in 1824. Originally Jefferson Medical College, the school was renamed in 2014 after a $110 million gift from philanthropist Sidney Kimmel. Located in Center City Philadelphia, Jefferson has trained over 35,000 physicians and is known for excellence in clinical training, anatomy education, and producing more practicing physicians than almost any other medical school. The school is the academic heart of Jefferson Health, one of the region's largest health systems.[1]
