JFK Boulevard Bridge
JFK Boulevard Bridge is a bridge spanning the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, carrying John F. Kennedy Boulevard between Center City and 30th Street Station. The bridge is a major component of the city's transportation infrastructure, providing direct access to the region's primary rail hub.
History
[edit | edit source]The JFK Boulevard Bridge was constructed as part of the development of the Penn Center complex and the transformation of John F. Kennedy Boulevard (formerly Pennsylvania Boulevard) into a major civic corridor. The boulevard and bridge were renamed in honor of President John F. Kennedy following his assassination in 1963.[1]
