Freire Charter Schools
Freire Charter Schools is a network of charter schools in Philadelphia named after Brazilian educator Paulo Freire. The schools emphasize education as a tool for social change and civic engagement.
History
Freire Charter School was founded in 1999 based on the educational philosophy of Paulo Freire, who believed education should empower students to become agents of change. The network has expanded to include multiple campuses.[1]
