Mastery Charter Schools
Mastery Charter Schools is a network of charter schools operating in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Camden, New Jersey, focused on preparing students for college success. The network operates multiple schools across both cities and has become one of the largest charter school networks in the Philadelphia region.
History
Mastery was founded in 2001 and has grown into one of the largest and most prominent charter school networks in the Philadelphia area. The organization pioneered an innovative turnaround model, taking over and transforming several struggling Philadelphia public schools through partnerships with the School District of Philadelphia. Over more than two decades, Mastery has expanded its footprint to include schools in multiple Philadelphia neighborhoods and established operations in Camden, New Jersey, operating as Mastery Schools of Camden.[1]

The Mastery network includes elementary, middle, and high schools throughout Philadelphia and Camden. Notable schools in the network include Hardy Institute High School, which serves students in Philadelphia.[2] The network operates three different charter public school models designed to meet diverse community needs across urban neighborhoods.
