History
My Loup opened in May 2023, quickly becoming one of Philadelphia's most celebrated new restaurants. The name comes from Amanda Shulman's nickname for her husband and co-chef Alex Kemp Roussy—"Loup," French for "wolf."
Chef Roussy's background in Quebec infuses the menu with French-Canadian influences rarely found in Philadelphia, while Shulman brings her experience running the popular Her Place Supper underground dining series.

Menu & Approach
My Loup offers a distinctive take on French cuisine:
- French-Canadian influence — Quebec traditions inform the menu
- Lighter touch — Refined but not heavy
- Daily changes — Menu evolves based on ingredient availability
- Flexibility — Order small plates at the bar or commit to a full meal
- Plateau fruits de mer — The showstopping seafood tower
The atmosphere balances sophistication with warmth, reflecting the chef-owners' vision of hospitality.
Schedule
Unusually for a hot restaurant, My Loup is closed on weekends. Chefs Roussy and Shulman intentionally designed their schedule to maintain work-life balance—a rarity in the restaurant industry.
